Cons: On-axis, the treble sits 3-5dB above the midrange (especially around 4kHz), giving a sibilant, hot top end that the manufacturer itself recommends compensating for with 30° of toe-out (firing the speakers straight into the room rather than at the listener). Even with that toe-out, the midrange still reads as somewhat scooped and recessed - the reviewer needed a wide, +2dB EQ boost around 2.5kHz to bring vocals back into proper balance. A high-Q resonance appears around 590Hz, and another shows up around 800Hz in burst decay measurements. Pros: A genuinely unusual radiation concept: nine small midrange drivers radiate nearly omnidirectionally from roughly 300Hz to 6kHz, producing an exceptionally large, enveloping soundstage and illuminating the sidewalls, floor and ceiling much more evenly than a conventional box. Erin found solid, snappy midbass and measured F3 at 50Hz and F10 at 36Hz. On-axis response below the tweeter transition is broadly linear for such an unconventional array. Multitone distortion remains comparatively well controlled at ordinary levels. The rear passive radiator and 7-inch woofer give useful extension, and the system’s room-filling spatial presentation is unlike a standard forward radiator.

Cons: The radiation pattern changes abruptly at 6kHz: below it the array is nearly omnidirectional, but the waveguided tweeter collapses to about +/-20 degrees horizontally and less than +/-10 degrees vertically. Ears must remain almost exactly on tweeter axis or the top octave largely disappears. Erin measured very low 81-82dB sensitivity despite the nine-driver array, so substantial amplifier power is required. A 7-8dB high-frequency peak suggests tweeter breakup or diffraction. The small midranges show notable compression at high level; 96dB is acceptable but the 102dB sweep loses significant midrange output, while the woofer compresses below about 60Hz. Harmonic distortion is high around 100Hz at 96dB. Its huge reflected-sound contribution makes results unusually room-dependent, and its price is extremely high for its sensitivity, output limits and discontinuous treble directivity.

Very wide, remarkably consistent horizontal directivity around ±70° gives an expansive, enveloping soundstage, helped by the reviewer’s pair measuring essentially identically to each other for tight image precision. A pronounced high-Q bass shelf centered around 80Hz (roughly 8dB above the mean level) delivers a punchy, attention-grabbing low-end thump at moderate volumes. Harmonic distortion is clean through the midrange at 86dB, and multitone distortion stays under about 3% even though the low end is handled by relatively small 4.5” drivers rather than something larger. Pros: Pretty deep bass. CEA2034 spinorama is flat on-axis at a high level, with high sensitivity around 89-90dB. Predicted in-room response is good aside from a dip between 800Hz-1.5kHz. Distortion at 86dB SPL/1m is good outside of the 8.5kHz resonance.

Cons: 3dB peak at 1.7khz, about a 4dB peak from 8k to 13k, going to be bright up top. Just okay vertical off axis. Really bad resonance at 8.5khz, which shows up as a sharp distortion spike at both 86dB and 96dB SPL/1m. Cumulative spectral decay (waterfall) reveals many fine resonances across the midrange and treble. At 96dB SPL/1m the midrange and treble get notably messier, with broad distortion elevation from 2-8kHz. Discontinued.

Cons: Even with the required EQ, Erin measured only about 81dB sensitivity, grossly non-flat response, numerous impedance/resonance irregularities and very high distortion. Output above roughly 90-95dB at his seat became audibly poor; multitone testing reached only about 98dB before the distortion limit. The reflection-dominant radiation prevents precise imaging and makes results strongly room-dependent.
