JBL Partybox 130 vs Partybox 110

Last updated: September 19, 2026

Short answer: the 130 if you want the features, the 110 if you want the value, and read the note about the 120 before deciding either way. The 130 ranks #7 out of 39 party speakers at $449.95; the 110 ranks #9 at $379.95.

JBL Partybox 130 vs JBL Partybox 110

What $70 buys. Auracast pairing (the 110 has no multi-speaker mode at all), a 7-band app EQ against 3, 15 hours of battery against 12, and 200 W against 160 W. Both weigh about 11 kg (24.3 lbs), both are IPX4, both have aux inputs and wheels.

The catch on the 130. Our notes describe it as boomier and less clear than the Partybox 120, its own close sibling. If you are shopping this tier, look at the party size ranking before committing, because JBL’s line has several near-identical models at different prices and the ordering is not what the model numbers suggest.

The catch on the 110. Its bass does not reach as deep as the older Partybox 100, and our notes make a pointed comparison: it is about as loud as, and only slightly deeper than, a [Tribit Stormbox Blast](/portable/speakers/Tribit-Stormbox-Blast/), which is far smaller, sounds better, and costs $180. Increasing the treble one step in the app helps the 110 noticeably.

The bigger question is whether you need this class at all. Both are heavy, both need AC to charge, and both are worse than a good boombox for everyday listening. Buy one only if you regularly host groups large enough to need it. The portable buyer’s guide covers where that line falls.

Buy the 130 for Auracast and the better EQ. Buy the 110 on discount if you just need volume for occasional parties.

Pros: A relatively manageable 11.3kg PartyBox with removable battery, foldable handle, light show, USB audio and modern JBL connectivity. Independent reviews describe it as unusually balanced and powerful for its format, while owner feedback praises clear voices and deep bass.

Cons: It is still bass-forward and less clear than the PartyBox 120 in direct comparisons. The smaller battery and stripped-back controls/features make it a questionable upgrade when the 120 is similarly priced.

Pros: Very neutral sound, slightly better than the Partybox 100. Measured bass extension of 41Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Bass isn’t as deep as the Partybox 100. Just as loud and slightly deeper than a Stormbox Blast which is way smaller with better sound. Increase treble one step in the app to make it more neutral.
