Format support: optical carries stereo PCM and often compressed surround formats, but check both the source device’s output settings and the speaker’s supported input formats before assuming full compatibility with a game console’s audio mix.
Cable length: TOSLINK fiber cables are more length- and bend-sensitive than copper cable. Keep the run reasonably short and avoid sharp bends.
