Looking for the best Bluetooth speaker for outdoor usage? Outdoors changes two things a living room hides: there are no walls to reflect sound back at you, so a speaker that sounds full indoors can sound thin and quiet in open air, and it has to survive rain, dust, sand and drops instead of sitting on a shelf. The picks below are chosen for output that still carries with nothing to reflect off, water and dust resistance rated by IP code rather than a “splash-proof” marketing claim, and bass that holds up at real volume, per expert reviewers like Oluv and Alan Ross.
Unlike sponsored review sites, we provide complete transparency: honest pros and cons, detailed specs, sound samples, comparison videos, and links to measurements. Every ranking is backed by data from trusted, unbiased audio experts.

Small
The best small size speaker that gets the loudest and has the deepest bass for outdoor use is the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2: $39.99 Amazon Aliexpress eBay
Pros: Best in class sound. Much deeper bass than most other speakers in the size. Built in strap is super useful for attaching it to things. Very neutral. To have it aimed directly at you unclip the strap and the speaker will sit upright with a slight lean back.
Cons: Finicky phone charging, which doesn’t usually work.
Setup: Use in Music EQ mode, when you switch to custom it’s not able to boost the bass properly as it is missing an EQ band that Music EQ mode uses

Medium
The best medium size battery powered speaker that gets loud and has the deepest bass for outdoor use is the JBL Charge 6: $199.95 Amazon B&H Photo Video eBay
Pros: Seems more neutral than the Charge 5. Flatter frequency response through the mids and treble as the Charge 5 was quite rolled off up high. Use this EQ from Joy/Oluv and turn down the lowest bass slider for the best sound quality. Oluv has even more paid EQs specifically for the GG and TL models indoors and outdoors here
Cons: Still some boosted bass by default. Mids are recessed. Bright above 2khz. Quite a V shaped frequency response.

For something less expensive, take a look at the medium size stereo and omnidirectional speaker in one with deep bass, get the Soundcore Motion 300: $79.99 Amazon eBay
Pros: Pretty deep bass for the small size. Pocket size in a big pocket. Can be used in stereo facing you, or omnidirectional lying down. Ability to have a custom EQ for each orientation, standing, lying flat, hanging. Try the Uboom L EQs from Oluv for a more neutral sound.
Cons: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings. Bassup mode is worse than Signature. Not quite as detailed or neutral as higher ranked speakers. Slight bass distortion when turned up.

Large
The best reasonably priced large size battery powered speaker for deeper bass with great sound quality is the JBL Xtreme 5: $399.95 Amazon B&H Photo Video eBay
Pros: Removable battery. Quite deep bass, reaching well below 40Hz. A fantastic sounding speaker with excellent off-axis dispersion, a big step up from older JBL portables. Beats the Soundcore Boom 2 and Tribit Stormbox Blast on bass depth and clarity. Plays clean at volume, unlike the JBL Boombox 4.
Cons: High priced. Some bass boost. A hole in the mid-upper bass which can’t be EQ’d out. Default EQ presets are weak (Signature is boring, Chill and Vocal are close to unusable) - needs the custom EQ to sound its best. Bigger and heavier than the Xtreme 4.
Setup: Try this Oluv EQ for the most neutral sound

Boombox
The best boombox size battery powered speaker that gets really loud and has deep bass is the Zealot ZE41: $289.90 Amazon Aliexpress eBay
Pros: The absolute best value for the bass performance, play time and max volume in the boombox class.
Cons: The heaviest and biggest boombox speaker around. A little rolled off up top and not that balanced through the rest of the range. Clarity isn’t as good as better speakers. Bass EQ is bloated and muddy sounding.

Party
The best party size big party battery powered speaker that gets loud with deep bass is the JBL Partybox 330: $629.95 Amazon B&H Photo Video eBay
Pros: Handle and wheels are convenient. Customizable lightshow. Removable battery. Slightly more power than the 310 and Stage 320 (280W vs 240W). Adds an optical TV input and USB-C lossless playback, plus dual mic and guitar inputs for karaoke and live sets.
Cons: Sound quality is nearly identical to the 310 and Stage 320 despite the power bump, so probably not worth an upgrade if you already own either of those. Removed the dedicated mic gain and microphone control knobs found on the 310/320. Some people don’t like the new lightshow design. Very large.

The best sounding absolute loudest battery powered speaker is the party size Electro-Voice Everse 12: $1,099.00 Amazon eBay
Pros: Good midrange and treble. The best sounding extremely loud speaker available. High efficiency drivers reach 2-3x the volume of typical speakers for the same wattage.
