This page ranks 48 large passive bookshelf speakers with woofers above 5.75”. This size class delivers the deepest bass of any bookshelf speaker, though larger woofers mean a bigger, heavier cabinet.
Rankings are based on flat frequency response, directivity, dynamics, imaging, and detail retrieval. Others may prioritize these traits differently.
If you don’t plan to put these on a desk or bookshelf, consider Passive Floorstanding Speakers instead for deeper bass and better overall performance, though at a higher price.
The law of diminishing returns applies, many moderately-priced options here provide outstanding value. I would not hesitate to recommend the majority of speakers on this page. Just note the ones labeled not recommended.
