Looking for a Bluetooth speaker to take camping? At a campsite there is no outlet to fall back on, the speaker sits in dirt, dew and rain for days, and your phone needs charging too. So the picks below favor a long claimed battery life, IP67 or better protection against both water and dust, and a power bank output to top up a phone, while still being ranked by sound quality so the speaker is worth carrying.

Unlike sponsored review sites, we provide complete transparency: honest pros and cons, detailed specs, sound samples, comparison videos, and links to measurements. Every ranking is backed by data from trusted, unbiased audio experts.

Stretching the battery: claimed battery life is measured at moderate volume with lights off, so a speaker played loud around a fire will run well short of it. Cold nights shorten it further, so keep the speaker in the tent or a bag overnight. For trips longer than a weekend, a portable power station can recharge a speaker and everything else.

Small

The best small size camping speaker, IP68 with a claimed 24 hours of battery, a power bank output and a design that floats, is the Soundcore Boom Go 3i: $59.99 Amazon AliExpress eBay

Soundcore Boom Go 3i ranking card

Pros: An exceptionally rugged 380g mini speaker with IP68 protection, a floating sound-forward design, app EQ, RGB lighting, a battery display, USB-C power-bank output and Auracast/TWS linking. It reaches about 92dB and independent testing finds it lasts nearly six hours at maximum volume with lights and BassUp enabled, matching its demanding claim.

Cons: This is still a 15W mono speaker: bass impact and stereo width are limited, and critical listeners may find the upper treble piercing or metallic. It is directional by design, so the sound changes off-axis, and independent reviews note it lacks a built-in microphone; it is far better for rugged outdoor background music than a large gathering.

Setup: Try out Oluv’s EQ which slightly improves the sound

Medium

The best medium size camping speaker, IP68 with a claimed 24 hours of battery and a USB-C power bank, is the JBL Charge 6: $149.95 Amazon B&H Photo Video eBay

JBL Charge 6 ranking card

Older models: the JBL Charge 5 (ranked lower, rated 4/5), the JBL Charge 4 (ranked lower, rated 3.5/5), the JBL Charge 3 (ranked lower, rated 3.2/5) and the JBL Charge 2 (ranked lower, rated 3.2/5).

Pros: Seems more neutral than the Charge 5. Flatter frequency response through the mids and treble as the Charge 5 was quite rolled off up high. Use this EQ from Joy/Oluv and turn down the lowest bass slider for the best sound quality. Oluv has even more paid EQs specifically for the GG and TL models indoors and outdoors here IP68 protection, a 7-band app EQ, Auracast, USB-C charging and a power bank output. Measured bass extension of 53Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Still some boosted bass by default. Mids are recessed. Bright above 2kHz. Quite a V shaped frequency response.

For a claimed 26 hours of battery, a carry handle, lights and a power bank output, get the medium size Xiaomi Sound Party: $133.62 AliExpress eBay

Xiaomi Sound Party ranking card

Pros: An unusually versatile 1.2kg outdoor speaker: IP67 dust/water protection, USB-C power-bank output, NFC pairing, lights, stereo pairing and a claimed 26-hour battery life. Several independent reviews describe a warm, generally balanced sound with clear vocals and useful bass impact when Bass Boost is off. It is also easy to carry thanks to the retractable handle. Measured bass extension of 54Hz (-10dB).

Cons: The sound evidence is mixed rather than universally glowing. One lab review found it loud but flat and unclean with blurred treble, while others hear the Bass Boost mode as boomy upper bass that can bottom out at high volume. It is not the strongest choice for a large party: tested output is around 94dB and rivals such as the Soundcore Boom 2 play louder with deeper bass. SBC is the only Bluetooth codec and there is no aux input.

Large

The best large size camping speaker, IP67 with a claimed 24 hours of battery, deep bass, an aux input and a power bank output, is the Tribit Stormbox Lava: $100 Amazon AliExpress eBay

Tribit Stormbox Lava ranking card

Pros: A powerful, IP67-rated portable speaker with a measured 44Hz -10dB bass point, 10-band app EQ, aux input and 24-hour claimed battery life. Independent reviews find that it gets loud with impactful bass, and careful EQ or current firmware can produce relatively clean sound through the mids and highs. Measured bass extension of 44Hz (-10dB).

Cons: XBass can make the low end muddy and obscure vocals, while the deepest notes lose authority and clarity falls at maximum volume. It is heavy for its size, its front-facing design has a narrow soundstage, and one review noted a brief sound interruption while changing volume; use a restrained EQ rather than expecting neutral sound out of the box.

Setup: Try out the Alan Ross EQ’s at this timestamp in his video There’s also a max bass EQ from Oluv and you can turn down the lowest slider for it to be more neutral

For the longest claimed battery in this size, 30 hours with IP67 protection and a power bank output, get the large size Marshall Middleton II: $330 Amazon eBay

Marshall Middleton II ranking card

Older model: the Marshall Middleton (ranked lower, rated 4/5).

Pros: Very deep bass for the size/weight. Measured bass extension of 38Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Bass boosted which drowns out the midrange. Dip around 200Hz, peak at 1kHz, dipped at 1.6kHz. Strange frequency response through the mids.

Cons: Bass extension not as deep as the top speakers. Overpriced. This may move around in the rankings as we get better sound samples

Boombox

For a group campsite or an RV, the best boombox size speaker with a claimed 30 hours of battery and lights is the Tribit Stormbox Blast: $179.99 Amazon eBay

Tribit Stormbox Blast ranking card

Newer model: the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2, ranked lower, rated 3.8/5.

Pros: Amazing speaker given its size, competes well with some speakers in the Party size class, bass almost as deep as a Partybox 100. Quite neutral in the default and xbass modes, but try Oluv’s EQ or Alan Ross’s EQ for a slightly more neutral sound. Oluv has mentioned v3.5 now uses his EQ as the defaults and sounds extremely good. 2 different light modes or can be turned off. Measured bass extension of 43Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Lacks a bit of detail compared to the top ranked speakers in other size categories, dip at 5.5kHz. Without the above EQ this speaker would rank around #4 in the rankings. The curved underside of the handle makes it a little harder to grip and can be uncomfortable to carry long distances.
