A discount only matters if the speaker is worth buying. Most Black Friday lists rank deals by the size of the markdown, which rewards speakers that were overpriced to begin with. This page starts from our powered and passive rankings instead: the best rated desktop, bookshelf, floorstanding and home theater speakers first, because many of them are already the best value at their normal price, then the well rated ones that are genuinely selling for less than usual right now.
How a deal is judged here. We track the price of everything we rank each time prices are refreshed, and compare today’s price with its own typical price over the last three months. Something only counts as on sale when it is at least 15% below that. Retailer “list prices” are often set high so a sale looks bigger, so they are only used, with a stricter cutoff, for models we have not been tracking long enough.
Prices on this page update automatically. Ratings are relative to each size class, so compare a speaker with others its size. For the full lists, see the powered and passive rankings. For other types, see all Black Friday speaker deals.
