#146 Bowers & Wilkins 803 D3: $17,000 per pair Discontinued Estimated eBay

Newer model: the Bowers & Wilkins 803 D4, ranked higher, estimated 3.5/5.

Pros: A three-way floorstander with a 1” diamond dome tweeter, a 5” Continuum cone midrange in a decoupled Turbine Head and two 7” Aerofoil bass units. Sensitivity is 90dB with an 8 ohm nominal load.

Cons: B&W’s own measurements of it are incomplete, so it has no preference score; the rating is estimated from that partial data and its successor, the 803 D4. Its impedance dips to 3.0 ohms, so it needs a capable amplifier, and it weighs 65.5kg each. Produced 2015 to 2021. Discontinued.

How it compares: Just above it: Paradigm Monitor SE 3000F - $16570 cheaper, 1Hz higher bass extension (-3dB). Just below it: Dali Rubikore 6 - $9000 cheaper, 3.6Hz lower bass extension (-3dB).
