#85 KEF R7: $3,800 per pair Discontinued Estimated eBay
Newer model: the KEF R7 Meta, ranked higher, estimated 4.6/5.
Matching center: the KEF R2c (rated 4/5).
Pros: A three-way tower with the same Uni-Q array as the R11, a 1” aluminium tweeter inside a 5” aluminium midrange, and two 6.5” hybrid aluminium woofers. KEF’s published measurements show a very smooth on-axis and listening window response. Sensitivity is 88dB.
Cons: That data starts at 300Hz, so it has no preference score; the rating is estimated from it and the measured R11 Meta, since the R7 Meta that replaced it has not been measured either. Impedance dips to 3.2 ohms. Discontinued.
How it compares: Just above it: Paradigm Founder 80F - $50 more, 5Hz higher bass extension (-3dB). Just below it: JTR Noesis 212RT - $2399 more, 13Hz higher bass extension (-3dB).
