Newer model: the JBL Stage 2 280F, ranked lower, rated 3.4/5.

Pros: A budget 2.5-way tower with a 1” aluminum tweeter in JBL’s HDI waveguide and two 6.5” woofers, rated at 90dB. Audio Science Review measured low on-axis deviation (0.41), wide horizontal coverage (about ±60 degrees) and bass to 55.7Hz (-3dB) and about 35Hz (-10dB), for a preference score of 5.01. Measured bass extension of 55.7Hz (-3dB).

Cons: Directivity varies across frequency (3.68dB directivity index deviation). Replaced by the Stage 2 280F. Discontinued.
