Pros: A long, low-profile center only 104mm deep, with a 1” aluminum tweeter in JBL’s HDI waveguide between six 3” woofers and 90dB sensitivity, designed to sit in front of a TV. Measured bass extension of 128.9Hz (-3dB).
Cons: Audio Science Review measured an uneven on-axis response (1.56dB average deviation) and bass that rolls off at 128.9Hz (-3dB) and about 93Hz (-10dB), for a preference score of 1.62 without a subwoofer. It needs a subwoofer crossed over well above 80Hz. JBL replaced the Stage line with Stage 2. Discontinued.
