#23 KEF Reference 5: $19,000 per pair Discontinued Estimated eBay
Newer model: the KEF Reference 5 Meta, ranked higher, estimated 4.8/5.
Matching center: the KEF Reference 4c (rated 4.1/5).
Pros: A tall three-way tower with KEF’s Uni-Q array, a 1” aluminium tweeter inside a 5” aluminium midrange, between four 6.5” aluminium woofers, plus interchangeable port tubes to tune the bass to the room. KEF’s own measurements show a very smooth listening window and sound power. Sensitivity is 90dB.
Cons: KEF’s data is not reliable below 200Hz, so it has no preference score; the rating is estimated from it and the Reference 5 Meta that replaced it. It weighs 60kg each. Discontinued.
Related speakers: KEF Reference 203.
