Bose SoundLink Plus vs JBL Flip 7

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Different classes, so treat this as a step-up-or-not question rather than a head-to-head. The Bose SoundLink Plus ranks #25 of 105 large speakers by sound quality at $179; the JBL Flip 7 ranks #15 of 175 medium speakers by sound quality at $119.95.

Bose SoundLink Plus vs JBL Flip 7

The Bose SoundLink Plus is the longer-running choice. IP67 rated, IP67 water/dustproof. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 14 for the JBL Flip 7. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the JBL Flip 7. Watch for: Boosted thuddy bass, but not as deep as the SoundLink Flex and you should probably just buy one of those instead if you want a Bose.

The JBL Flip 7 is the lighter pick. A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. At 1.2 lbs (560 g) it weighs much less than the Bose SoundLink Plus at 3.3 lbs (1.5 kg). It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Bose SoundLink Plus lacks. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Bose SoundLink Plus lacks. Watch for: A little bit of a bump at 4kHz, not quite as neutral as the JBL Flip 6.

Buy the Bose SoundLink Plus at $179 for a large speaker, or the JBL Flip 7 at $119.95 for a medium speaker instead.
