Short answer: the Motion 300, with one catch: it needs the right EQ setting to earn that ranking. It ranks #3 of 164 medium speakers against the Flip 7’s #15, and it costs $39.96 less.
The Motion 300 depends on EQ in a way the Flip 7 doesn’t. Its own cons are explicit: without applying a specific EQ profile, or manually pushing the top two treble bands to max, the speaker is “very rolled off in the treble” and would rank around #50 instead of near the top. Its pros credit Oluv’s Uboom L EQ settings as the fix for a more neutral sound. The Flip 7 doesn’t need any of this: its pros call it “a very neutral speaker” out of the box, with just a small 4kHz bump keeping it from being fully neutral, per its own cons.
The Motion 300 has genuine flexibility the Flip 7 lacks. It can be used in stereo facing you or laid flat for omnidirectional sound, with separate custom EQ profiles for standing, lying flat, or hanging orientations. It also supports full stereo output and TWS pairing, which the Flip 7 doesn’t offer at all.
What the Flip 7 has that the Motion 300 lacks: a higher IP68 rating against IPX7, and a USB-C digital audio input.
What the Motion 300 has that the Flip 7 lacks: LDAC Bluetooth codec support (versus AAC/SBC on the Flip 7), PartyCast linking for up to 100 speakers versus Auracast on the Flip 7, a built-in microphone, and deeper bass extension at 50Hz versus 59Hz.
Buy the Soundcore Motion 300 if you’re willing to apply the recommended EQ settings. Once tuned, it ranks far ahead of the Flip 7 for less money.
Buy the JBL Flip 7 if you want a smaller, more pocketable speaker that sounds neutral without any EQ adjustment, and don’t mind paying more for it.

Older models: the JBL Flip 6 (ranked higher, rated 4.2/5), the JBL Flip 5 (ranked lower, rated 3.3/5) and the JBL Flip 4 (ranked lower, rated 3.3/5).
Pros: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. Slightly deeper bass than the Flip 6. IP68 protection, a 7-band app EQ, Auracast and a USB-C digital audio input. Measured bass extension of 59Hz (-10dB).
Cons: A little bit of a bump at 4kHz, not quite as neutral as the Flip 6. On balance it is the slightly worse of the two.

Pros: Pretty deep bass for the small size. Pocket size in a big pocket. Can be used in stereo facing you, or omnidirectional lying down. Ability to have a custom EQ for each orientation, standing, lying flat, hanging. Try the Uboom L EQs from Oluv for a more neutral sound. Measured bass extension of 50Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings. Bassup mode is worse than Signature. Not quite as detailed or neutral as higher ranked speakers. Slight bass distortion when turned up.
