JBL Flip 7 vs Soundcore Motion 300

Last updated: August 20, 2026

Short answer: the Soundcore Motion 300. It ranks #2 of 136 medium speakers by sound quality at $79.99; the JBL Flip 7 ranks #14 and costs $129.95, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.

What the JBL Flip 7 offers: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Set against that: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6.

The case for the Soundcore Motion 300: Pretty deep bass for the small size. The catch: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings.

Buy the Soundcore Motion 300. It ranks higher for sound quality than the JBL Flip 7 and costs less, so there is no real case for the other one.

Pros: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. Slightly deeper bass than the Flip 6

Cons: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6. I believe this one is slightly worse than the Flip 6.

Pros: Pretty deep bass for the small size. Pocket size in a big pocket. Can be used in stereo facing you, or omnidirectional lying down. Ability to have a custom EQ for each orientation, standing, lying flat, hanging. Try the Uboom L EQs from Oluv for a more neutral sound.

Cons: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings. Bassup mode is worse than Signature. Not quite as detailed or neutral as higher ranked speakers. Slight bass distortion when turned up.
