Short answer: the Soundcore Motion 300 for the newer design and per-orientation EQ. It is pocket-sized, works stereo-facing or laid flat in omnidirectional mode, its 9-band EQ switches per orientation, plus LDAC and IPX7, though the stock treble needs EQ. The Motion+ counters with separate tweeters and bigger 2.75-inch woofers for more bass at full volume and better off-axis treble, but it is discontinued, heavier, and needs a community EQ.
Motion 300 is pocket-sized, works stereo-facing or laid flat with a genuine omnidirectional mode, and offers a 9-band EQ that switches per orientation. LDAC support and IPX7 protection round it out, though the stock treble is rolled off until you dial in an EQ.
Motion+ uses separate tweeters and bigger 2.75” woofers, which our notes describe as more bass at full volume and better off-axis treble than smaller rivals, but it’s discontinued, heavier, and needs a community EQ profile to sound its best out of the box.
Buy the Motion 300 for the newer design, lighter build and per-orientation EQ. Buy the Motion+ only if you find old stock cheap and don’t mind hunting down a third-party EQ.

Pros: Pretty deep bass for the small size. Pocket size in a big pocket. Can be used in stereo facing you, or omnidirectional lying down. Ability to have a custom EQ for each orientation, standing, lying flat, hanging. Try the Uboom L EQs from Oluv for a more neutral sound. Measured bass extension of 50Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings. Bassup mode is worse than Signature. Not quite as detailed or neutral as higher ranked speakers. Slight bass distortion when turned up.

Pros: The previous best sounding in class, still a great speaker with separate tweeters, more bass at full volume and better off-axis treble frequency response than the Uboom L. Just okay with the default EQ, I highly recommend using this EQ setting from r/kai7895 to get it more neutral. To achieve the absolute best sound you’ll need the Wavelet app (Android only) and set the provided Wavelet EQ in there too. Turn off the wavelet EQ for outdoor use. An alternative is Oluv’s EQ which only needs the Soundcore app EQ. Measured bass extension of 54Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not quite as neutral or detailed as the Uboom L. Without the above EQ, this speaker will rank around #25 in the rankings. Discontinued.
