Both are compact mono speakers with good weather resistance, but the JBL has stronger value and a more modern feature set.
Flip 7 is the more practical outdoor choice. It weighs 560 g, reaches 59Hz at minus 10dB, has IP68 protection, a 14-hour claimed battery, USB-C audio, 7-band EQ, and Auracast. Its tuning is notably neutral for the size and bass is slightly deeper than the Flip 6’s, although a small 4kHz bump makes it a touch less even than its predecessor.
The Beosound A1 2nd gen is the premium-material alternative. It weighs almost the same at 558 g and adds a microphone plus AAC and aptX Adaptive codec support. Its 18-hour claimed battery and IP67 rating are still respectable, but bass extension is limited to 58Hz, maximum output is 93dB, and it remains mono despite supporting pairing with another A1.
The case for the B&O Beosound A1 2nd gen: More neutral than the first A1. The tradeoff: Not stereo.
What the JBL Flip 7 offers: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Watch for: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6.
Buy the JBL Flip 7 for its much lower price, IP68 protection, app EQ, USB-C audio, and neutral compact sound.
Buy the B&O Beosound A1 2nd gen if its premium construction, microphone, and aptX Adaptive support justify paying $265.05 more.

JBL Flip 7: $129.95 Amazon eBay
