JBL Flip 7 vs JBL Go 4

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Different classes, so treat this as a step-up-or-not question rather than a head-to-head. The JBL Flip 7 ranks #15 of 175 medium speakers by sound quality at $119.95; the JBL Go 4 ranks #30 of 62 small speakers by sound quality at $49.95.

JBL Flip 7 vs JBL Go 4

The JBL Flip 7 is the deeper-bass, longer-running pick. A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Its bass reaches about 59Hz before falling 10dB, against 82Hz for the JBL Go 4. It is rated for 14 hours of battery against 7 for the JBL Go 4. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the JBL Go 4 lacks. The tradeoff: A little bit of a bump at 4kHz, not quite as neutral as the JBL Flip 6.

The JBL Go 4 is the lighter choice. A little more bass than the JBL Go 3 and they fixed the strange mids peak. At 0.4 lbs (190 g) it weighs much less than the JBL Flip 7 at 1.2 lbs (560 g). The tradeoff: Not much bass at all, especially with electronic/bass-heavy tracks pushed past ~50% volume.

Buy the JBL Flip 7 ($119.95) for a medium speaker; the JBL Go 4 ($49.95) suits a small speaker instead.
