The JBL Partybox 300 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. Exceptional sound quality with crisp, crystal clear highs and midranges, hard punchy bass without muddiness. Its bass reaches about 40Hz before falling 10dB, against 55Hz for the Ultimate Ears Hyperboom. Watch for: Hard to carry, too tall, drags on the ground.
The Ultimate Ears Hyperboom is the longer-running, lighter choice. Strong audio performance with 2x 4.5” woofers, 2x 1” tweeters, 2x passive radiators. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 18 for the JBL Partybox 300. At 13 lbs (5.9 kg) it weighs much less than the JBL Partybox 300 at 35.3 lbs (16 kg). It links with other speakers (PartyUp up to 50 speakers), which the JBL Partybox 300 cannot. The catch: Very expensive for what it does, a bit dull and muddy sound.
Buy the JBL Partybox 330, the replacement for the discontinued JBL Partybox 300; it is rated higher for sound quality than the Ultimate Ears Hyperboom.

Pros: Exceptional sound quality with crisp, crystal clear highs and midranges, hard punchy bass without muddiness. 2x 6.5” woofers + 3x 2.25” tweeters, bass boost function, 45Hz-20kHz frequency range. 18-hour battery with 10400mAh capacity. Multiple inputs (RCA, USB, 3.5mm aux, mic, guitar). LED light modes (meter/pulse/party). True Wireless Stereo pairing up to 2 units. Measured bass extension of 40Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Hard to carry, too tall, drags on the ground. Max spl and bass extension are only as good as the JBL Partybox 100. No real reason to ever get one, get a JBL Partybox 100 instead. Discontinued.
