FlossyCarter is ranked #38 of 49 in the speaker-review source reliability ranking. The ranking weighs measurement quality, repeatability, useful comparisons, disclosure, and editorial independence; it is an assessment of the work used for speaker decisions, not a claim about personal character.
Reliability assessment: This source has brand-related or campaign-style coverage that warrants extra disclosure scrutiny. That caution lowers confidence in unsupported conclusions, but it does not establish that every review was paid or that independently verifiable measurements should be discarded.

Ranked #154 of 164 in Medium Size Portable Bluetooth Speakers - Skullcandy Terrain XL: $79.99 Amazon eBay
Pros: The loudest and longest-running of the Terrain line at 95dB and 18 hours, and the only one with a built-in microphone. IPX7 rated with a nylon wrist wrap. Multi-Link pairs it with other Skullcandy speakers.

Ranked #72 of 91 in Boombox Size Portable Bluetooth Speakers - Bumpboxx Flare 8: $400 Discontinued Bumpboxx eBay
Newer model: the Bumpboxx Flare8 Pro, ranked higher, estimated 2.8/5.
Pros: A retro-styled, 8.6kg party speaker with useful real-world features: IPX6 splash resistance, FM radio, USB and microSD playback, aux input, TWS pairing and a claimed 118dB maximum output. It can play much louder than compact Bluetooth speakers and is easy to aim at a small outdoor gathering.
Cons: Bass is thuddy rather than deep or controlled, and there is no app to improve the tuning. Owner reports also raise reliability concerns, including noisy or intermittent volume controls and sound cutting out at high volume. It is a fun-looking niche product, not a sound-quality or durability leader. Discontinued.

Large Party Size Portable Bluetooth Speakers
Ranked #2 of 13 in Large Party Size Portable Bluetooth Speakers - JBL Partybox Ultimate: $1,499.95 Amazon B&H Photo Video eBay
Newer model: the JBL Partybox Ultimate 2, ranked lower, estimated 4.7/5.
Smaller models: the JBL Partybox Stage 320 (rated 4.6/5) and the JBL Partybox Club 120 (rated 4.5/5).
Pros: A true large-venue party speaker: its 1,100W system, dual 9-inch woofers and six-driver array produce exceptionally deep, authoritative bass and very high clean output. Independent reviews praise its unusually clear, articulate sound at extreme levels. Wi-Fi streaming, app EQ, inputs for two mics/guitar, USB playback, Auracast, a polished light show and wheels make it unusually complete for karaoke and DJ-style use.
Cons: At 39kg and more than a metre tall, this is not casually portable despite the wheels. It needs AC power, has no battery and only IPX4 splash resistance. Reviews also note that its bass-heavy presentation can obscure fine detail and overwhelm a small room; its size and cost only make sense for very large spaces or frequent events. JBL’s wired daisy chain only works with other JBL speakers.

Ranked #3 of 13 in Large Party Size Portable Bluetooth Speakers - JBL Partybox 1000: $1,099.95 Amazon eBay
Pros: Sounds right up there with the JBL Partybox Ultimate that replaced it, and is the better value of the two. A 12-inch down-firing woofer, two 7-inch midranges and a compression horn tweeter run on 1100W, with mic and guitar inputs and a waterfall light show. A handle and wheels make the 34 kg cabinet easy to move.
Cons: Very large and heavy. No battery. No app.

Older models: the Soundboks 3 (ranked lower, rated 3.3/5) and the Soundboks 2 (ranked lower, rated 3.2/5).
