The JBL Grip is the better-sounding, deeper-bass option. Ambient light on the back with settable themes. Its bass reaches about 68Hz before falling 10dB, against 85Hz for the Tribit Stormbox Mini. At 0.8 lbs (385 g) it weighs much less than the Tribit Stormbox Mini at 1.6 lbs (708 g). It has an adjustable EQ, which the Tribit Stormbox Mini lacks. The tradeoff: Lacking deeper bass, definitely the worst of the JBL line until you get to the smaller clip.
What the Tribit Stormbox Mini does well: IPX7 waterproof, excellent battery life (12 hours), RGB LED lighting, app support with AAC codec, true wireless stereo (TWS) capability, USB-C charging. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the JBL Grip lacks. It keeps a wired aux input, which the JBL Grip lacks. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the JBL Grip. Watch for: Lacking quite a bit of bass.
Buy the JBL Grip. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the Tribit Stormbox Mini is discontinued, so it is only available used.

Cons: Lacking quite a bit of bass. Sounds hollow and thuddy. Just not great overall. Discontinued; Tribit has retired it, superseded by the Tribit Stormbox Mini+.
