The JBL Grip is the lighter choice. A small, fully waterproof speaker with app EQ, ambient lighting, Auracast linking and USB-C audio input. At 0.8 lbs (385 g) it weighs much less than the EarFun Uboom L at 1.4 lbs (650 g). It links with other speakers (Auracast), which the EarFun Uboom L cannot. Watch for: Lacking deeper bass, definitely the worst of the JBL line until you get to the smaller clip.
The EarFun Uboom L is the better-sounding, deeper-bass pick. A great value medium speaker with clear, natural sound, waterproofing, and a Video Mode that keeps audio in sync with video. Its bass reaches about 56Hz before falling 10dB, against 68Hz for the JBL Grip. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the JBL Grip lacks. It keeps a wired aux input, which the JBL Grip lacks. The tradeoff: It cannot produce real low-bass rumble or fill a large, noisy space, and the top end loses some detail.
Buy the EarFun Uboom L. It is rated higher for sound quality than the JBL Grip and costs less, so it is the default pick unless a specific strength of the other one matters more to you.
