The Sony XB23 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. Reasonably neutral. Its bass reaches about 67Hz before falling 10dB, against 85Hz for the Tribit Stormbox Mini. It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the Tribit Stormbox Mini lacks. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Tribit Stormbox Mini lacks. The catch: Bass drops off a ton at high levels.
The Tribit Stormbox Mini is the tougher option. IPX7 waterproof, excellent battery life (12 hours), RGB LED lighting, app support with AAC codec, true wireless stereo (TWS) capability, USB-C charging. It is rated IPX7 against IPX4 for the Sony XB23. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Sony XB23 lacks. The tradeoff: Lacking quite a bit of bass.
Buy the Sony XB23 only if you find one used in good condition; both are discontinued, and it is the better rated of the two. For a new speaker, buy the Sony ULT Field 1, which replaces the Sony XB23.
