Short answer: the JBL Flip 4 if you play loud, the Sony XB23 if you play quietly. The XB23 is reasonably neutral, but its bass drops off a ton at high levels. The Flip 4 has less bass than a Flip 5 and battery failures are common, so neither is a clean pick and it comes down to how much you push the volume.
Buy the JBL Flip 4 or the Sony XB23, whichever you find used in better condition; both are discontinued. For a new speaker, start with the Earfun Uboom L instead.

Cons: Bass is limited by its 66Hz specification. There is no companion app. No EQ adjustment. Battery failures are common. Discontinued.
