The JBL Flip 4’s replacement, the JBL Flip 7, is rated 4.2/5 at $89.95.
The Soundcore Motion 300 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass pick. Pretty deep bass for the small size. Its bass reaches about 50Hz before falling 10dB, against 66Hz for the JBL Flip 4. It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the JBL Flip 4 lacks. It has an adjustable EQ, which the JBL Flip 4 lacks. The catch: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings.
The JBL Flip 4 is the lighter option. At 1.1 lbs (510 g), JBL Flip 4 combines 2x 40mm fullrange with Bluetooth and aux. At 1.1 lbs (510 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Soundcore Motion 300 at 1.7 lbs (772 g). It keeps a wired aux input, which the Soundcore Motion 300 lacks. The catch: Battery failures are common.
Buy the Soundcore Motion 300. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the JBL Flip 4 is discontinued.

Pros: Pretty deep bass for the small size. Pocket size in a big pocket. Can be used in stereo facing you, or omnidirectional lying down. Ability to have a custom EQ for each orientation, standing, lying flat, hanging. Try the Uboom L EQs from Oluv for a more neutral sound. Measured bass extension of 50Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings. Bassup mode is worse than Signature. Not quite as detailed or neutral as higher ranked speakers. Slight bass distortion when turned up.

Cons: Bass is limited by its 66Hz specification. There is no companion app. No EQ adjustment. Battery failures are common. Discontinued.
