The JBL Flip 4 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass option. At 1.1 lbs (510 g), JBL Flip 4 combines 2x 40mm fullrange with Bluetooth and aux. Its bass reaches about 66Hz before falling 10dB, against 82Hz for the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2 lacks. It links with other speakers (Connect+ up to 100 speakers), which the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2 cannot. The tradeoff: Battery failures are common.
What the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2 does well: IP67 rated and floats. The catch: Not stereo, barely any bass, recessed treble.
Buy the JBL Flip 7, the replacement for the discontinued JBL Flip 4; it is rated higher for sound quality than the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2.

Pros: At 510 g, JBL Flip 4 combines 2x 40mm fullrange with Bluetooth and aux. Claimed 12 hours (manufacturer specified) battery life, ipx7 protection, up to 92db and single-box playback make its feature set practical for its intended room or portable use. Measured bass extension of 66Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Bass is limited by its 66Hz specification. There is no companion app. No EQ adjustment. Battery failures are common. Discontinued.

Pros: IP67 rated and floats. Compact and light enough to toss in a bag. Measured bass extension of 82Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not stereo, barely any bass, recessed treble. Slightly boosted 93Hz upper bass Dip at 9kHz. You can tell from the micro USB that they are just feeding you the same crap hardware over and over, this is inexcusable for a product released in 2019. Not technically a 360 speaker, only front and rear.
