The Zealot ZE41 is the better-sounding choice. The absolute best value for the bass performance, play time and max volume in the boombox class. The tradeoff: The heaviest and biggest boombox speaker around.
The Sony SRS-XG500 is the longer-running, lighter choice. 30 hour battery life; 10-min quick-charge gives 3 hours. It is rated for 30 hours of battery against 4 for the Zealot ZE41. At 12.3 lbs (5.6 kg) it weighs much less than the Zealot ZE41 at 25.3 lbs (11.48 kg). The catch: Thuddy upper bass, not as deep bass as others.
Buy the Zealot ZE41. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the Sony SRS-XG500 is discontinued.

Cons: The heaviest and biggest boombox speaker around. A little rolled off up top and not that balanced through the rest of the range. Clarity isn’t as good as better speakers. Bass EQ is bloated and muddy sounding.
