Zealot ZE21 vs ZE41

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Short answer: the ZE41, and our own notes on the ZE21 admit it. The ZE21’s pros entry credits it with great value for bass, play time, and max volume in the boombox class, then adds that the ZE41 now beats it out. It ranks #14 of 71 boombox speakers at $299.90; the ZE21 ranks #15 at $241.47, $58 less.

The complaints are nearly identical between them. Both share a top end that’s rolled off and not well balanced against the rest of the range, and a bass EQ our notes call bloated and muddy sounding. The ZE41 adds one more: it’s the heaviest and biggest boombox speaker in the class.

The ZE41’s edge is narrow but real, described in our notes as the absolute best value for bass, play time, and max volume, upgraded from the ZE21’s merely great version of the same claim.

Buy the ZE41 if the extra size and weight aren’t a dealbreaker. Buy the ZE21 to save $58 and accept a small step down from what is, by our own account, now the better speaker.
