Short answer: the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3, if you are buying new. The Tribit Stormbox Pro ranks higher than it (#46 vs #108 of 175 medium speakers, 3.7/5 vs 3.0/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 is still sold new at $191.99. The Tribit Stormbox Pro’s replacement, the Tribit Stormbox Max, is still sold new.
The Tribit Stormbox Pro is the better-sounding, deeper-bass option. 24 hour battery life (60% volume, XBass off); doubles as a power bank. Its bass reaches about 58Hz before falling 10dB, against 70Hz for the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3. It supports aptX Bluetooth, which the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 lacks. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 lacks. Watch for: Bottom woofer was fixed in a later firmware, upgrade for best sound.
Why pick the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3: IP67 rated, floats, and survives drops from up to 1 meter. It links with other speakers (PartyUp up to 50 speakers), which the Tribit Stormbox Pro cannot. Watch for: Not stereo, barely any bass.
Buy the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 new; the Tribit Stormbox Pro is no longer sold new, so it only makes sense as a used find.

Newer model: the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 4, ranked lower, rated 2.1/5, released Jun 2024. See every Ultimate Ears Wonderboom, Boom and Megaboom generation.
Pros: IP67 rated, floats, and survives drops from up to 1 meter. 20 hour battery life: about double most speakers this size. Measured bass extension of 70Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not stereo, barely any bass. You can tell from the micro USB that they are just feeding you the same crap hardware over and over, this is inexcusable for a product released in 2018. Not technically a 360 speaker, only front and rear.
