Short answer: the Soundcore Motion 300. It ranks #3 of 175 medium speakers by sound quality (rated 4.5/5) at $79.99 and is still sold new; the Tribit Stormbox Pro ranks #46 (rated 3.7/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used. The Tribit Stormbox Pro’s replacement, the Tribit Stormbox Max, is still sold new.
The Soundcore Motion 300 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass pick. Pretty deep bass for the small size. Its bass reaches about 50Hz before falling 10dB, against 58Hz for the Tribit Stormbox Pro. At 1.7 lbs (772 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Tribit Stormbox Pro at 2.2 lbs (980 g). It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the Tribit Stormbox Pro lacks. The tradeoff: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings.
The Tribit Stormbox Pro is the longer-running option. 24 hour battery life (60% volume, XBass off); doubles as a power bank. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 13 for the Soundcore Motion 300. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Soundcore Motion 300 lacks. The tradeoff: Bottom woofer was fixed in a later firmware, upgrade for best sound.
Buy the Soundcore Motion 300. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the Tribit Stormbox Pro is discontinued, so it is only available used.

Pros: Pretty deep bass for the small size. Pocket size in a big pocket. Can be used in stereo facing you, or omnidirectional lying down. Ability to have a custom EQ for each orientation, standing, lying flat, hanging. Try the Uboom L EQs from Oluv for a more neutral sound. Measured bass extension of 50Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings. Bassup mode is worse than Signature. Not quite as detailed or neutral as higher ranked speakers. Slight bass distortion when turned up.
