Short answer: the SVS SB-1000 PRO. It ranks #4 of 73 subwoofers by sound quality, rated 3.7/5, at $599; the KEF KC62 ranks #212, rated 2.5/5, and costs $1,699.99, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.
What the KEF KC62 does well: Dual 6.5-inch force-canceling drivers with 1000W in ultra-compact basketball-sized sealed enclosure.
Why pick the SVS SB-1000 PRO: 12-inch sealed driver delivers 113.9dB CEA-2010-A average, the highest output of any subwoofer in the under-30 lbs (13.6 kg) weight class. The catch: As a sealed box it gives up output in the deepest octave: 91dB at 20Hz and 97.7dB at 25Hz, where a ported subwoofer like the RSL (Rogersound Labs) Speedwoofer 10S MKII reaches 100dB and 105dB.
Buy the SVS SB-1000 PRO. It is rated higher for sound quality than the KEF KC62 and costs less, so only choose the other one for a particular feature it does better.

Pros: 12-inch sealed driver delivers 113.9dB CEA-2010-A average, the highest output of any subwoofer in the under-30lb weight class. Sealed enclosure keeps bass tight and controlled for its compact footprint.
