Newer model: the SVS SB-1000 PRO, rated 3.7/5, released Feb 2021. See every SVS subwoofers generation.
Pros: A compact 12 inch sealed subwoofer with an aluminum cone, now discontinued and often found used. It has a 400W RMS amplifier and measures 109.7dB average from 40 to 80Hz. The aluminum cone driver has a composite dust cap, and distortion stays under 10% THD above 40Hz. It is rated 23 to 270Hz in a cube about 361mm on a side.
Cons: Output drops to 99.3dB at 25Hz, 94.9dB at 20Hz and 84.1dB at 12.5Hz, so it is limited for the lowest movie effects. It costs more than its 109.7dB average suggests. It is discontinued, so you would need to find one used or buy its successor.
