Both are rated below 3.0/5 among the 175 medium speakers, so if sound quality matters, consider the EarFun Uboom L instead, ranked #2 at $49.79.
The Tribit Stormbox is the deeper-bass, lighter option. IPX7 water resistant, dual pairing for stereo setup, excellent battery life (20 hours), instant on/off buttons, 97dB max volume. Its bass reaches about 52Hz before falling 10dB, against 63Hz for the W-King D8 Mini. At 1.2 lbs (535 g) it weighs much less than the W-King D8 Mini at 2.8 lbs (1.26 kg). The tradeoff: Muffled sounding, treble dips from 5kHz-12kHz.
The W-King D8 Mini is the louder option. 30W output with switchable indoor/outdoor EQ modes. Alan Ross Reviews measured it at 100dB at full volume, against 97dB for the Tribit Stormbox. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Tribit Stormbox lacks. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Tribit Stormbox. The catch: Recessed midrange, harsh treble.
Buy the Tribit Stormbox 2, the replacement for the discontinued Tribit Stormbox; it is rated higher for sound quality than the W-King D8 Mini.

Pros: IPX7 water resistant, dual pairing for stereo setup, excellent battery life (20 hours), instant on/off buttons, 97dB max volume. Measured bass extension of 52Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Muffled sounding, treble dips from 5kHz-12kHz. Listening from the front is the worst frequency response, lay it down facing up with xbass off for the smoothest response. Not technically a 360 speaker, only front and rear. Discontinued; Tribit has retired it, superseded by the Tribit Stormbox 2.
