JBL Go 4 vs Tribit Xsound Go

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Different classes, so treat this as a step-up-or-not question rather than a head-to-head. The JBL Go 4 ranks #30 of 62 small speakers by sound quality at $49.95; the Tribit Xsound Go ranks #102 of 175 medium speakers by sound quality at $34.99.

JBL Go 4 vs Tribit Xsound Go

The JBL Go 4 is the lighter pick. A little more bass than the JBL Go 3 and they fixed the strange mids peak. At 0.4 lbs (190 g) it weighs much less than the Tribit Xsound Go at 0.8 lbs (380 g). Watch for: Not much bass at all, especially with electronic/bass-heavy tracks pushed past ~50% volume.

The Tribit Xsound Go is the longer-running option. Well balanced sound. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 7 for the JBL Go 4. It keeps a wired aux input, which the JBL Go 4 lacks. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the JBL Go 4. The catch: Lacking quite a bit of bass compared to bigger speakers.

Buy the JBL Go 4 at $49.95 for a small speaker, or the Tribit Xsound Go at $34.99 for a medium speaker instead.
