The JBL Charge 4 is the better-sounding, longer-running option. Doubles as a power bank for charging phones/tablets. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 9 for the Ultimate Ears Roll 2. It charges over USB-C rather than Micro USB. The catch: 1 Oval driver.
The Ultimate Ears Roll 2 is the lighter choice. Thin, flat profile fits easily in a bag or purse. At 0.7 lbs (330 g) it weighs much less than the JBL Charge 4 at 2.1 lbs (960 g). It has an adjustable EQ, which the JBL Charge 4 lacks. The catch: Barely any bass, rolled off treble off axis.
