Why pick the Turtlebox Ranger: Smoother frequency response than the other Turtlebox speakers. The tradeoff: Bass sounds kind of thuddy and isn’t as deep as higher ranked speakers.
The JBL Charge 4 is the longer-running option. Doubles as a power bank for charging phones/tablets. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 12 for the Turtlebox Ranger. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Turtlebox Ranger lacks. Watch for: 1 Oval driver.
Buy the JBL Charge 6, the replacement for the discontinued JBL Charge 4; it is rated higher for sound quality than the Turtlebox Ranger.
