Short answer: the Skullcandy Terrain if the price decides it, the Roll 2 if the shape does, though neither ranks well in its class. The Terrain is IPX7 rated with a carry strap and costs $49.49 against the Roll 2’s $100, but it has no bass and very rolled off treble. The Roll 2 is not stereo either, though its thin, flat profile fits easily in a bag or purse and it is light at 0.73 lbs (331 g). Both are rated below 3.0/5 among the 172 medium speakers; for better sound, the EarFun Uboom L ranks #2 at $49.79. The Ultimate Ears Roll 2 is discontinued; its replacement is the Ultimate Ears Miniroll.
Buy the Skullcandy Terrain new; the Ultimate Ears Roll 2 is no longer sold new, so it only makes sense as a used find.
If battery life is a priority, the Skullcandy Terrain is rated for 14 hours versus 9 hours for the Ultimate Ears Roll 2.
