Short answer: the JBL Charge 6, if you are buying new. The JBL Charge 4 ranks higher than the Tribit Stormbox 2 (#63 vs #105 of 175 medium speakers) but is discontinued; its replacement, the JBL Charge 6, is rated 4.2/5 at $119.95 and is still sold new.
The JBL Charge 4 is the better-sounding choice. Doubles as a power bank for charging phones/tablets. It links with other speakers (Connect+ up to 100 speakers), which the Tribit Stormbox 2 cannot. The catch: 1 Oval driver.
The Tribit Stormbox 2 is the lighter choice. A little better sounding than the original Tribit Stormbox, less of a rolled off treble. At 1.3 lbs (593 g) it weighs much less than the JBL Charge 4 at 2.1 lbs (960 g). It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the JBL Charge 4 lacks. It has an adjustable EQ, which the JBL Charge 4 lacks. The tradeoff: Drivers on the side, so it will have a rolled off treble listening to it face on.
Buy the JBL Charge 6, the replacement for the discontinued JBL Charge 4; it is rated higher for sound quality than the Tribit Stormbox 2.
