The Soundcore Motion X600 is the better-sounding choice. Firmware 4.2.9 is a big improvement in sound quality over previous releases. It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the Ultimate Ears Epicboom lacks. It links with other speakers (PartyCast up to 100 speakers), which the Ultimate Ears Epicboom cannot. The tradeoff: Stock frequency response is wavy.
The Ultimate Ears Epicboom is the longer-running choice. 17 hour battery with USB-C charging (first UE portable with USB-C). It is rated for 17 hours of battery against 12 for the Soundcore Motion X600. The catch: Not very deep bass for the size.
Buy the Soundcore Motion X600. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Ultimate Ears Epicboom and costs less, so only choose the other one for a particular feature it does better.

Pros: Firmware 4.2.9 is a big improvement in sound quality over previous releases. Try this Oluv EQ for the best sound quality. Measured bass extension of 52Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Stock frequency response is wavy. Use spatial mode for best sound quality. Need a different EQ for each volume step. Dip in the upper bass around 120Hz. Rising frequency response, treble a little hot. Would be ranked around #20 without the Oluv EQ. Even with the Oluv EQ the bass isn’t very deep and the sound is still a little unnatural.

Pros: 17 hour battery with USB-C charging (first UE portable with USB-C). IP67 rating, floats in water. Made mostly from recycled fabric and plastic. Large best-sounding UE portable that still feels portable. 180ft Bluetooth range. Measured bass extension of ~55Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not very deep bass for the size. Gets distorted at around 70-80% with bass thuds.
