Short answer: the ELAC Vela BS 404.2. It ranks #48 of 214 bookshelf speakers by sound quality, rated 4.3/5, at $3,699. The Jamo Concert Legacy 8 ranks #76, rated 4.1/5, at $3,499, $200 cheaper, not enough of a saving to outweigh the sound-quality gap.
The case for the ELAC Vela BS 404.2: A larger ELAC Vela BS 403.2 with a 180mm AS-XR woofer and the same JET 6 folded ribbon tweeter, rated from 38Hz to 50kHz. The tradeoff: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared with ranked speakers.
The case for the Jamo Concert Legacy 8: A 2026 revival of the Jamo Concert 8 with a 6.5” SEAS aluminium/magnesium midwoofer and a 1” Scan-Speak dome tweeter, a real oak veneer cabinet with a 40mm baffle, and a down-firing port in the plinth so it works close to a wall. The tradeoff: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared directly with measured speakers; the rating is estimated from the measured original Jamo Concert 8, which used different drivers.
Buy the ELAC Vela BS 404.2. It is rated higher for sound quality, and saving $200 with the Jamo Concert Legacy 8 does not make up for the sound-quality gap.
About the ratings: neither speaker has been measured yet, so both ratings are estimated from measured siblings and predecessors (likely ranges: ELAC Vela BS 404.2 4.0 to 4.6; Jamo Concert Legacy 8 3.6 to 4.6). Treat this verdict as provisional.

Pros: A larger ELAC Vela BS 403.2 with a 180mm AS-XR woofer and the same JET 6 folded ribbon tweeter, rated from 38Hz to 50kHz. Future Audiophile found it clear and dynamic with deep bass for a standmount.
