#70 Jamo Concert 8: $2,500 per pair Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the Jamo Concert Legacy 8, ranked lower, estimated 4.1/5.
Pros: Jamo’s 1990s flagship stand-mount, also sold as the D830, with a 6.5” SEAS Excel woofer and a 25mm SEAS Sonotex dome tweeter in a cherry cabinet. Sensitivity is 90dB. Measurements show deep bass for its size, 52.6Hz (-3dB) and about 40Hz (-10dB), for a preference score of 5.89 that reaches 8.09 with an ideal subwoofer. Measured bass extension of 52.6Hz (-3dB).
Cons: The on-axis response is less even (0.51 average deviation). That data is low quality. The load is 4 ohms. It is not the current Concert Legacy 8 reissue, which is a different speaker. Discontinued.
How it compares: Just above it: JBL Synthesis SAM1HF + SAM2LF - $1500 more, 2Hz higher bass extension (-3dB). Just below it: Jamo Concert Legacy 8 - $999 more, 3Hz lower bass extension (-3dB).
