#25 SMSL D300 eBay
Pros: Audio Science Review measured a SINAD of 117 dB, so its noise and distortion are inaudible. It takes USB, optical, coaxial and Bluetooth 5.0 with LDAC, aptX HD and AAC, and outputs on RCA and balanced XLR. A switchable fixed or variable output lets it feed an amp or drive powered speakers directly.
Cons: It measures a little below newer DACs with the same rating, such as the SMSL D400ES, though the gap is not audible. It is a full size desktop unit weighing just over a kilogram. There is no headphone output, so headphones need a separate amp.
