Pros: A stylish, rugged speaker with a very long battery you can swap yourself, a detailed app EQ, and power bank charging. 40+ hour battery life with a user-replaceable battery, strap, sleeve and grilles. Doubles as a USB-C power bank. IP55 dust/water resistance. App includes parametric EQ, a Soundstage widening control, and wall/corner placement compensation. Endless-rotation control knobs. Plays a lot louder than the Marshall Stockwell II with a little more deep bass, and a firmware update noticeably cleans up the launch tuning. AAC support.

Cons: Highs are recessed by default and need the treble control maxed to compensate, still lacking detail even then. Bass tends to sound resonant and boomy, with reported frequency cancellation and phase issues on complex material that EQ doesn’t fully resolve. Oluv’s A/B testing against the outgoing Marshall Stockwell II finds the default tuning muffled and muddy enough to prefer the seven-year-old original out of the box, and Alan Ross hears the same veiled, muddy sound even after the firmware update. Bass thins out as volume rises, so it turns bright and bass light well below maximum volume. In Alan Ross’s live A/B it loses to both the JBL Charge 6 and the Soundcore Motion 300. The tone knobs are now unmarked endless dials and power moved to a separate button, so there is no visual reference for a flat setting. No aptX support.
