Short answer: the Vifa Helsinki for sound quality, the Stockwell III for features. The Helsinki’s shared-woofer stereo array is consistently ranked above other battery speakers for midrange and treble accuracy, but it carries only an 8-hour battery, a broken official app and no water resistance for $449. The Stockwell III costs $249.99 and covers practical needs with a 40+ hour power-bank battery and IP55 protection.
This pits Marshall’s feature-heavy Stockwell III against the Vifa Helsinki, widely regarded as one of the best-sounding battery speakers for midrange and treble accuracy. The Stockwell III offers a parametric EQ app, wall/corner compensation, a 40+ hour battery that doubles as a power bank, and IP55 protection for $249.99. The Vifa Helsinki offers class-leading mid/treble accuracy from its shared-woofer stereo array, though only an 8-hour battery, a broken official app, and no water resistance, for $449.
Choose the Vifa Helsinki for sound quality that’s still considered a class leader: Despite lacking EQ, a working app, or splash protection, its midrange and treble are consistently ranked above other battery speakers in this class.
Choose the Stockwell III for a far more complete feature set at a lower price: Its 40+ hour battery, IP55 protection, and USB-C power-bank output cover practical needs the Helsinki doesn’t address, at $199.01 less.
Buy the Marshall Stockwell III new; the Vifa Helsinki is no longer sold new, so it only makes sense as a used find.
