Minirig 4 with subwoofer vs Vifa Helsinki

Last updated: September 16, 2026

Short answer: the Vifa Helsinki for better sound quality, the Minirig 4 with subwoofer for the lower price. The Vifa Helsinki ranks #1 of 78 large speakers at $449. The Minirig 4 with subwoofer ranks #5 at $290, $159 cheaper.

Minirig 4 with subwoofer vs Vifa Helsinki

What the Minirig 4 with subwoofer offers: Very balanced sound. Finally USB-C charging. Deeper, more impactful bass than the old Sub 3. Subwoofer pairs wirelessly and can be placed anywhere in the room for extra bass. Fine-grained tuning via the app - 5-band EQ plus separate bass/treble and subwoofer controls. Sounded more accurate than the JBL Xtreme 5 in a side-by-side comparison, and the whole 2.1 setup is smaller and lighter than it. Watch for: Not stereo, app is buggy. Not easy to carry on the go, no handle and there’s 2 pieces. Calls itself splash resistant but has no official water rating. A bit expensive. Has reliability issues more often than any other speaker. Default out-of-the-box tuning sounds off and needs a custom EQ to sound its best.

What the Vifa Helsinki offers: Generally regarded as the best midrange and treble sound quality of any battery powered Bluetooth speaker. Watch for: No TWS pairing, looks like a purse, requires a hacked Vifa app (Android only post #48) to enable night mode to sound good. Not sure I can recommend this one generally these days, the Uboom L has 98% of the sound quality with more features and a way cheaper price. There are mentions that the 2022 “new” version of this speaker doesn’t sound as good as Vifa was purchased by a Chinese company and laid off all the great sound engineers in the Austria office.

Buy the Minirig 4 with subwoofer if the price matters more than sound quality. Buy the Vifa Helsinki if sound quality matters more than the price.

There is a real battery-life gap here: the Minirig 4 with subwoofer is rated for 30 hours, the Vifa Helsinki only 8 hours.

Water resistance is not close: the Minirig 4 with subwoofer is rated at Splash resistant (splashing), well ahead of the Vifa Helsinki at no water resistance.
