Different sizes. The Charge 6 is a medium 990 g speaker. The Stockwell III is a large 1.3 kg speaker. Each is rated within its own class.
The Charge 6 is the better sounding speaker. It is more neutral than the Charge 5 through the mids and treble, with some boosted bass by default. The Oluv EQ linked on its page improves it further. It is IP68 with a claimed 24 hours, a USB-C power bank and Auracast.
The Stockwell III sounds muffled by default. Its highs are recessed even with the treble maxed, its bass can be boomy, and Oluv’s testing preferred the older Stockwell II out of the box. What it offers is over 40 hours of claimed battery, a user-replaceable battery, an aux input, a parametric app EQ and IP55.
Buy the JBL Charge 6 ($149.95) for a medium speaker; the Marshall Stockwell III ($249.99) suits a large speaker instead.

Older models: the JBL Charge 5 (rated 4/5), the JBL Charge 4 (rated 3.5/5), the JBL Charge 3 (rated 3.2/5) and the JBL Charge 2 (rated 3.2/5).
Pros: Seems more neutral than the Charge 5. Flatter frequency response through the mids and treble as the Charge 5 was quite rolled off up high. Use this EQ from Joy/Oluv and turn down the lowest bass slider for the best sound quality. Oluv has even more paid EQs specifically for the GG and TL models indoors and outdoors here IP68 protection, a 7-band app EQ, Auracast, USB-C charging and a power bank output. Measured bass extension of 53Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Still some boosted bass by default. Mids are recessed. Bright above 2kHz. Quite a V shaped frequency response.

Marshall Stockwell III: $249.99 Marshall eBay
Older model: the Marshall Stockwell II (rated 4.5/5).
Pros: 40+ hour battery life with a user-replaceable battery, strap, sleeve and grilles. Doubles as a USB-C power bank. IP55 dust/water resistance. App includes parametric EQ, a Soundstage widening control, and wall/corner placement compensation. Endless-rotation control knobs.
Cons: Highs are recessed by default and need the treble control maxed to compensate, still lacking detail even then. Bass tends to sound resonant and boomy, with reported frequency cancellation and phase issues on complex material that EQ doesn’t fully resolve. Oluv’s A/B testing against the outgoing Stockwell II finds the default tuning muffled and muddy enough to prefer the seven-year-old original out of the box, and output loses dynamics and bass while turning harsh well below maximum volume. No aptX support.
