Short answer: the JBL Charge 6, if you are buying new. The Soundcore Motion+ ranks higher than it (#3 vs #11 of 142 medium speakers, 4.4/5 vs 4.2/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the JBL Charge 6 is still sold new at $199.95.
Charge 6 measures flatter through the mids and treble than its Charge 5 predecessor, though it still ships with boosted bass and a bright top end by default; a community EQ from Oluv/Joy cleans that up. IP68 and a USB-C power bank function round out the feature set.
Motion+ pairs separate tweeters with bigger woofers for more bass at full volume and better off-axis treble than smaller rivals, but Soundcore has discontinued it, and it needs the community Wavelet/EQ setup mentioned in our notes to sound its best.
Buy the JBL Charge 6 since it’s still sold new, better protected, and pairs over Bluetooth for stereo. Buy the Motion+ only if you can find old stock and are willing to install the EQ profile it needs.
There is a real battery-life gap here: the JBL Charge 6 is rated for 24 hours, the Soundcore Motion+ only 12 hours.

Pros: Seems more neutral than the Charge 5. Flatter frequency response through the mids and treble as the Charge 5 was quite rolled off up high. Use this EQ from Joy/Oluv and turn down the lowest bass slider for the best sound quality. Oluv has even more paid EQs specifically for the GG and TL models indoors and outdoors here. Measured bass extension of 53Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Still some boosted bass by default. Mids are recessed. Bright above 2kHz. Quite a V shaped frequency response.

Soundcore Motion+: $79.99 used, Discontinued Amazon eBay
Pros: The previous best sounding in class, still a great speaker with separate tweeters, more bass at full volume and better off-axis treble frequency response than the Uboom L. Just okay with the default EQ, I highly recommend using this EQ setting from r/kai7895 to get it more neutral. To achieve the absolute best sound you’ll need the Wavelet app (Android only) and set the provided Wavelet EQ in there too. Turn off the wavelet EQ for outdoor use. An alternative is Oluv’s EQ which only needs the Soundcore app EQ. Measured bass extension of 54Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not quite as neutral or detailed as the Uboom L. Without the above EQ, this speaker will rank around #25 in the rankings. Discontinued.
