These sit in different size classes, so this is not a straight ranking comparison. The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 ranks #107 of 166 medium speakers by sound quality at $79.99; the Sony SRS-XB13 ranks #43 of 59 small speakers by sound quality at $74.95. Both are rated below 3.0/5 for their class (166 medium speakers and 59 small speakers), so if sound quality matters, look higher up the rankings.

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 is the deeper-bass choice. IP67 rated, floats, and is rated to survive a 5 ft drop onto hard surfaces. Its bass reaches about 76Hz before falling 10dB, against 88Hz for the Sony SRS-XB13. Watch for: Not stereo, barely any bass.
The Sony SRS-XB13 is the lighter option. A removable strap hangs it from a bag or bike. At 0.6 lbs (255 g) it weighs much less than the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 at 0.9 lbs (420 g). It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 lacks. It charges over USB-C rather than Micro USB. The catch: Not much bass, and the sound is muddy.
One note: the Sony SRS-XB13 is no longer in production and isn’t widely stocked new anymore. The Sony SRS-XB13’s replacement, the Sony SRS-XB100, is still sold new.
Buy the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 at $79.99 if you want a medium speaker. Buy the Sony SRS-XB13 at $74.95 if you want a small speaker instead.

Newer model: the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4, ranked higher, rated 2.9/5, released Jun 2024.
Older models: the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2 (ranked lower, rated 2.9/5) and the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom (ranked lower, rated 2.9/5). See every Ultimate Ears Wonderboom, Boom and Megaboom generation.
Pros: IP67 rated, floats, and is rated to survive a 5 ft drop onto hard surfaces. 14 hour battery: longer than the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2. Measured bass extension of 76Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not stereo, barely any bass. Boosted 93Hz upper bass. Cuts bass heavily at high volume. You can tell from the micro USB that they are just feeding you the same crap hardware over and over, this is inexcusable for a product released in 2022. Not technically a 360 speaker, only front and rear.
