JBL Flip 6 vs Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Short answer: the Flip 6, and it isn’t close. It ranks #12 of 135 medium speakers at $129.95; the Wonderboom 3 ranks #83 at $72, $58 less.

Our own cons entry for the Wonderboom 3 is unusually pointed. Not stereo, barely any bass, boosted upper bass around 93Hz that cuts heavily at high volume, and a note that the speaker still uses micro USB, which our notes call inexcusable for a product released in 2022, feeding buyers the same hardware over and over.

The Flip 6 is described as a huge sound quality leap over the Flip 5, very neutral and nearly pocket-sized, with only a slight upper mids emphasis as its real complaint.

Buy the Flip 6. The ranking gap here reflects a real, well-documented difference in what you’re getting.

Pros: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size, a huge sound quality leap over the Flip 5.

Cons: Not stereo. Some slight upper mids emphasis. The TL version (made in Vietnam) tweeter can sound somewhat scratchy and doesn’t sound as good as the GG version (made in China)

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 ranking card

Pros: IP67 rated, floats, and is rated to survive a 5 ft drop onto hard surfaces. 14 hour battery - longer than the Wonderboom 2.

Cons: Not stereo, barely any bass. Boosted 93hz upper bass. Cuts bass heavily at high volume. You can tell from the micro USB that they are just feeding you the same crap hardware over and over, this is inexcusable for a product released in 2022. Not technically a 360 speaker, only front and rear.
