Short answer: the JBL Flip 6 for size and neutrality, the Soundcore Motion+ for output. The Motion+ was the previous best sounding in class and is still great with separate tweeters, more bass at full volume and better off-axis treble than the Uboom L, though it is not quite as neutral or detailed as the Uboom L. The Flip 6 is very neutral, very small and a huge leap over the Flip 5, but it is not stereo and has slight upper mids emphasis.
Buy the JBL Flip 6 new; the Soundcore Motion+ is no longer sold new, so it only makes sense as a used find.

Pros: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size, a huge sound quality leap over the Flip 5. Measured bass extension of 56Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not stereo. Some slight upper mids emphasis. The TL version (made in Vietnam) tweeter can sound somewhat scratchy and doesn’t sound as good as the GG version (made in China)

Pros: The previous best sounding in class, still a great speaker with separate tweeters, more bass at full volume and better off-axis treble frequency response than the Uboom L. Just okay with the default EQ, I highly recommend using this EQ setting from r/kai7895 to get it more neutral. To achieve the absolute best sound you’ll need the Wavelet app (Android only) and set the provided Wavelet EQ in there too. Turn off the wavelet EQ for outdoor use. An alternative is Oluv’s EQ which only needs the Soundcore app EQ. Measured bass extension of 54Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not quite as neutral or detailed as the Uboom L. Without the above EQ, this speaker will rank around #25 in the rankings. Discontinued.
