Same family: the JBL PRX908 (smaller model, rated 4/5) and the JBL PRX912 (smaller model, rated 4.3/5).

Pros: A powered 15 inch PA speaker with good sound, fairly deep bass, app control and built in EQ and feedback suppression. A 15-inch powered PA speaker with 1000W RMS, 133dB peak output and a 4.77 ideal-subwoofer preference score. High-quality vendor data shows 51Hz measured extension, and it is backed by JBL’s extensive service network and 12-band parametric EQ with dbx DriveRack feedback suppression carried over from the JBL PRX912. Measured bass extension of 58Hz (-3dB).

Cons: Its measured preference trails the 12-inch JBL PRX912, and at 24.1kg it is meaningfully heavier to carry to a gig than the smaller model.

Frequency Response

How the JBL PRX915 measures across the audible range. A flatter listening window (the sound arriving straight at you) is more neutral: peaks sound forward or harsh, dips sound recessed. The estimated in-room response adds what a typical room does, and there a gentle, even tilt down toward the treble is ideal. Both curves are shifted so their 300 Hz to 3 kHz average sits at 0 dB.

EQ for a Neutral Response

No EQ preset: the best simple EQ we can fit to these measurements improves the predicted preference score by less than 0.2. The listening window is already close to flat, and what holds the score back, such as narrow ripple in the response or uneven output off-axis, is not something EQ can fix without making it worse elsewhere.
